Encouraged by strong customer acceptance, Technocrats expanded into the field of welding machines and systems, achieving a significant milestone as one of the first manufacturers of inverter-based welding machines in India. This marked a new era in welding technology and strengthened the company’s position in advanced power source design.
Building on this foundation, Technocrats diversified into CNC cutting systems and welding automation solutions, delivering precision-driven machines for modern fabrication needs. The company’s capabilities further evolved to include customized automation systems, turnkey fabrication solutions, and complete installation and commissioning support at customer sites.
In line with emerging technologies and environmental responsibility, Technocrats has also developed solutions such as Plasma Gasifiers and Plasma Furnaces for applications including e-waste management and advanced material processing. HISTORY
Technocrats Plasma Systems Private Limited began its journey in 1990 as “Technocrats”, a partnership firm founded by Mr. Arun Kumar, a former scientist at BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre). Starting truly from scratch, the company developed and introduced a new-generation Air Plasma Cutting Machine featuring Thyristorised Current Control — a pioneering innovation in India at that time.
Our commitment to engineering excellence was soon recognized when Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory (DMRL) awarded Technocrats a project for cutting 150 mm thick steel, after extensive evaluation and physical trials against competing technologies. Encouraged by the response and valuable feedback from customers, we expanded our portfolio to include Plasma Welding, Micro Plasma Welding, and a range of energy-efficient welding equipment covering MMA, TIG, AC/DC TIG, MIG/MAG, and Submerged Arc Welding applications.
In 1996, Technocrats Plasma Systems Private Limited became the first Indian company to introduce IGBT-based Inverterized welding and cutting machines, marking a major milestone in the nation’s industrial automation landscape. To further enhance productivity and precision, the company established its Automation Division in 2007, focusing on customized plasma and welding automation solutions.
